Thirty years in Japan. Over a decade building online.Here is what I have learned.

I am Adam Payne, a British entrepreneur based in Nagoya, Japan, where I have lived for thirty years. I started selling online in 2012 and have spent the years since helping people build real online businesses around what they genuinely know, genuinely care about, and can genuinely sustain.

Before any of that I spent seventeen years teaching English in Japan, which taught me one thing above everything else. The ability to take something complicated and make it simple and accessible is worth more than almost any other skill in business. That is the thread that runs through everything I do.

Most people I work with are not beginners in life. They have real knowledge, real experience, and real passion. What they are missing is clarity about what to build and the confidence to build it without copying someone else or chasing whatever is trending this week. That is the gap I help close.

I have visited all 47 prefectures of Japan, all 50 American states, lived in Australia, and spent time across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the South Pacific. Those experiences taught me more about people, business, and what actually matters than any course ever could. A lot of what I write about in my newsletter comes directly from those years on the road.

I do not believe in hustle culture, fake urgency, or building something that consumes your life in the name of freedom. I believe in building something real, something that fits who you are, and something you can still be proud of in ten years.
